High School and Career College Courses are modified to meet the needs of each group of students and can be held during regularly scheduled class periods. Each course consists of lecture and practice sessions as well as written tests that will be returned to the teacher within one week of the course completion date.

NOTE: The CPR portion of the Standard First Aid with CPR 'C' and WHMIS Training course can be upgraded to the Health Care Provider CPR Course for those students who require this qualification.

The courses outlined below satisfy College and University requirements for health-related programs.

*Basic First Aid with CPR 'A'

The Basic First Aid course covers all the following specific topics and more:

— Adult CPR;
— Secondary Survey;
— Musculoskeletal Injuries;
— Spinal precautions;
— Soft Tissue Injuries (bruises, burns, and frostbite) ;
— Heat and cold emergencies;
— Poisons;

*This course is WSIB approved.
