Ontario Child Care First Aid Requirements
Licensed child care centres in Ontario operate under the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA).
The Act requires supervisors and staff who are included in required staffing ratios to maintain valid Intermediate (formerly Standard) First Aid certification with CPR. Many daycare operators also choose to certify their entire team to help ensure a safe environment for children, staff, and visitors.
